Hey all, I'm making a lot of changes and I wanted to get an opinion on this tank setup. :)

Setup: 40g breeder, 36x18x15 (actual height of water from gravel to surface is 11.5-12"). Cobbled-lid, working on it. 40w plant light. AQ50 filter in back left corner. Heavily planted with driftwood, slate, and medium to fine gravel substrate. Temp at 78. Waterchanges done roughly every two weeks give or take at about 30%.

Stock list:
-29 dwarf aquatic frogs
-9 glass catfish
-4 guppies (2f 2m)
-5 or 6 kuhli loaches
-(1") hillstream loach
-(3") banjo catfish (newly added)

The frogs are getting increasingly good at knowing where the food is. The glasscats hide during the day and come out to eat at night, find food without issue. The frogs have no trouble reaching the top, and the filter's flow doesn't reach "their" corner, or even half. The loaches make due with the rowdy frogs.

Verdict?

looks like a nice and interesting set up. Just keep an eye on them and make sure everyone is getting fed and not picked on.

That's a lot of frogs lol. Make sure you have no escapees. Keep all gaps blocked so you don't find crispy frogs on your floor.

Thanks for the replies, guys!
@snakeguy: I watch very closely for anyone picking on another, and each group just keeps to themselves. I am worried about the banjocat getting food though.
@hamster: I really shouldn't take chances by waiting as long as I have... I'm going to forge me up a proper lid tomorrow if I can. Thanks! (... and tentatively check all the surrounding floor/desk area...)
@tlindsey: I had the "original 4" breed for me in the 10g they were in previously (the last added to the big tank). I didn't do much for the tadpoles other than throw them in my 40g shrimp tank, thinking that some might survive off the general wildness in there, but no dice. Then again I don't want to bite off more than I can chew. The majority of what I have came from someone raising tadpoles carefully and expecting "just a few to survive".

Question for the masses: Can this setup be pushed further? I'd love to add some ottos, a few more glasscats and some more loaches.
