I'm currently a junior in college at the University of Michigan. This summer I will be taking an internship in Wyoming. The only problem is that I won't be able to take my 4 piranhas with me. I am hoping that I can find someone willing to take them in over the summer. It would be ideal if I could find someone in the Ann Arbor/Detroit area who has fish keeping experience. If anybody is interested or has any ideas I would really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance for the help,
Josh

Just some more information:
When: End of April through the end of August
Tank Size: 75 Gallon
Filtration: Eheim 2217 and a Penguin BioWheel 200
Fish Size: The four are all about 4" right now.

If you have any question, please ask.

quick couple of ?s for ya

u going to suplly $$$ for food and filtration media?
are u willing to take the chance of NOT having any when u get home?
i take it u don't live neer your parents (or any other family) or they are allready not willing to take care of them
how pissed are u going to be if someone screws you over and tells u they all died and accutally took your Ps and gives you back a empty tank

sry to sound like i DICK but i hope u have taken these things into consideration allready and are willing to deal with the consiquences

Josh, answer these questions and I might be able to help you. I live near Flint and just started a RBP tank myself. I've had them before. GoBlue

I'll definitely take care of both these expenses. I could either stock up before hand or give you money to take care of these things. Whatever works for you.

I'd prefer that they are all alive at the end of the summer but I realize that these fish are often cannibalistic and problems could arise. If they don't make it, I won't hold anybody responsible.

My parents live in Grand Rapids but they don't want to take care of them. They go to our cottage in Boyne City a lot and don't want the responsibility of watching them.

Yeah, I'd be pretty pissed, but I trust that people do what's right. Also, if I don't find someone to take care of them then I'll have to sell them back to the lfs.

I have thought about this and it seems like the best option. There aren't too many bad people on this site and I think that everybody here is pretty serious about fish keeping.

If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

are you providing the tank for them?

how big of a tank are they in or do they need?

i may also consider this. i transported my big rhom from out near that area. if no one closer takes them pm me. ive been looking into getting a shoal of pygos...this could be like test drive. see if i want some or not.

Yes I am and I can move it also.

They are in a 75 gallon

They started off in a 29 gallon but outgrew that in a few months. I still have the tank so it could somehow be used in a move as well.

i could only do itif the tank was provided. i dont have any tanks open at the moment that would work for them.

They're just over 4" right now so at the rate they're growing they might be 6-7" around summer. I'm not real sure of their growth rate.

Demjor, where are you located?
