OK I'm 29 years old and have bred guppies for the last 15 years or so. I really got bored with the smaller fish and decided to get a 60 gallon tank and get some larger fish. I picked up a lot of baby fish with bad advice from fish stores and after a year they are getting rather large and I need some advice as to what size tank, filtration I need. My current fish are:
Blue gourami
sliver arrowana
peacock bass
pacu
iridescent shark
parrot fish
datnoid
channel catfish
red tailed catfish
2 pink gouramis
brown knife
red cichlid
blue lobster

I currently have a 60 gallon tank with a magnum 350 and a aquaclear 70.

I know I'm going to need a larger tank asap and have the money saved up to do so. Most of the fish are still small but the pacu is about 9 inches now and is beating up the other fish so I'm looking to upgrade the tank within the next month or two.

What size tank should I get and what type of filtration do I need. I know I made a mistake getting too many large fish but I'm looking to keep them all for life and I want them all to be happy. Also, reading up on some of the fish it looks like some may stay small and might get eaten by the larger fish. I'm more than willing to keep the smaller fish in the 60 gallon and move the larger fish to an appropriate sized tank.

Advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Well i see you got a problem.
All of those fish will get huge and they have an appetite for meat. Some of those fish will get over 5 feet long so
you should be prepared to get a 4000 gallon tank or pond.
There are some issues with the stock as well, gourami's will get eaten by all the other fish same with the lobster, parrot fish, knifefish and red cichlid ( what do you mean by red cichlid ). When the RTC get's big he will eat all of those fish ( im surprise he hasn't eaten any of them yet ).
For now a 300 gallon tank would be fine for about 4 months as long as you don't over feed.
Some good foods are
Hikari pellets
NLS pellets
silver sides
tilapia
shrimp
Trout
bass
blood worms
etc, But do NOT give feeder fish to them since they can carry parasites that will kill your fish, not to mention they are also low in nutrients.

Unless you have a 2500+gallon pond/tank, your stock is not going to work out. The RTC is going to be huge. It may also eat most of your stock too when it gets larger.(Blue Gouriami, Lobster) Your silver arowana is going to need a minimum of a 8 X 3 X 2 tank ALONE. Pacu is going to need to be in a pond. Same goes for the channel cat. If you are serious about getting a large tank, you are going to need a very large wet/dry + externals/Canisters to maintain your fish's at their adult size. Most peacocks will get to about 24"+, so you're going to need a large tank for the cichla as well.

I suggest getting rid of most of your fish.. Like your Pacu and RTC.. They are too large for most average fishkeepers to maintain..

Yeah really..... a 600 gallon tank would just be a temporary holding tank for the RTC, Channel cat, IR shark, and pacu.
Get rid of those and you'll probably be fine with a 450 or 500 g tank.

I can do a 300 gallon tank. I don't think I can do a pond in a two bedroom townhome. Currently I feed my fish hikari cichlid gold and frozen bloodworms that I thaw out in a glass filled with tank water, the catfish used to eat the frozen cubes in one gulp. I also feed them dried shrimp every other day instead of the pellets. With a 300 gall0on tank and a 60 gallon tank which fish should I consider giving away? Only the pacu and red tailed catfish?

The fish in red are the ones you should give away since they will not work in a 300gallon.

Blue gourami
sliver arrowana
peacock bass
pacu
iridescent shark
parrot fish
datnoid
channel catfish
red tailed catfish
2 pink gouramis - If these are GIant Gouriami's, then no. If they are kissing gouriami's, they will be fine in a 300gallon.
brown knife
red cichlid
blue lobster

give away the pacu, red tail cat, channel cat and the rest should be fine in a 300 gallon....the pecock bass might eat some of your guramies...goog luck giving away your fish nobody wants those tank busters and neither do public aquariums...please dont dump the fish in a local pond or lake
