Well, I haven't posted in a while and after this new pickup I figured it was about time. I thought my 4.5" con was getting pretty big until this guy was brought into the LFS I work at. The trailers on his tail push him a little over 6". His scales look a little beat up and he has some torn fins but he was still too pretty to pass up. Unfortunately I still haven't been able to get him to eat. It doesn't seem to slow him down though. If he doesn't take pellets tonight I'll try live tomorrow (maybe a worm). Hope you like him. Oh and sorry about the water spots and reflection.

Wow he is a beast!! He looks old

You could try frozen bloodworms, krill, cut up shrimp and then try to work some Hikari Gold or NLS in.

Once you get him in a routine of eating the "live" foods, fast him for a few days and try pellets.

Nice looking Con! Ive always had a soft spot for convict, i.m.o. theyre very under rated and overlooked by most cchlid keepers. I know they can be terrors at times, but they have so much character and personality that i hav always had convicts in my tanks for the last 7 or 8 years. Heres a pic of a 4 year old marbled Convict, he was spot on 6" TL when he died. He was the chunkiest con ive seen and would attack my algae magnet whenever i dared to move it!!

I agree, I love cons. I wish I had a camera. My biggest con is a little over 6 inches.
