Hey,

Well I have been away at Uni for 12 weeks leaving my folks in charge of my tanks. They'd taken a massive interest in the whole fish keeping game and have done a brilliant job bar one thing. My mum has been busy stocking the tank. This isn't really a problem yet as everything is still pretty small so we have time to jig/sell/give. (she's had a telling off and taught her the ways of Google she also feels awful now)

The problem is we have one 3'x1'x18" (120l) tank and our larger 5'x18"x2" (~500l) (LxWxH)

The 3' tank has 10 blue Acara babies (1 inch each) which we need to get rid of.

In the 5'
We have 3 very small Oscars
1 male front
2 blue Acara (mating pair) also need to go
2 dollars
2 orange severums (one is going)
1 blue dolphin
2 pink kissing gouramis
1 large Bala shark

My suggestion was that we put the dollars and the kissers in the 120l with a small plec. Have a nice peaceful tank.

But the real problems come with the large tank now.
Currently everything is very healthy in there as it’s all relatively small. I know it won’t be for much longer though so I want to get this fixed asap as I can't stand the fact that eventually it’ll harm these fish.

Ideally we'd like to keep the Oscars, shark, blue dolphin, front and a severum but that’s still too much. :(

Suggestions would be great as I'm getting very stressed/upset about all this. All the LFS take fish in for free and I have some fellow fish keepers with large enough set ups to take some in.

Thank you in advance, I know this is very irresponsible fish keeping but my mum was trying to do a nice thing and the advice you get when buying fish should be taken with a pinch of salt.

Why stress? While the Oscars remain small you have time to consider your options.

I'd buy a kick arse filter and wait and see which fish get along, you may not get to choose.
