lol.... i live in florida, and i was doing my usual neighborhood walk and dipnetting and i went to this creek i always go to

there are lakes and ditches all over, but that is my favorite place to go, anyway, i was walking along the side of the creek, and went to one of those (big open circle drainage things) on the side of the creek, (the banks are sorta steep) and the water is deepest there

the creek is almost completely covered in vegetation, but that area is clear, so i looked in there, cuz thats where i tend to see bigger fish, and i saw a few plecos about 1ft long on the sides of where the creek went into the big circle drain thing, and thought

"they must be breeding, but theyre so small, i thot they got bigger"

id seen a few all around the same size, near the shores of the lakes in my neighborhood, and was thinking they must stay around that size here

so i kept walking down the creek like always, dip netting, and on the way home, decided to take a second look into the part where id seen the plecos, and i so one 1fter as i had scared most away accedentaly

i was thinking the same thing when i was looking at this one, and then looked deeper into the water.... and slowly swimming into the big cirlce drainage thing, was the HUGEST pleco ive ever seen (about 28in long)

it was almost scary lol, didnt think there were plecos that size swimming around in that creek!! i tried to dipnet it, and almost did, but the water was much darker toward the bottom, and i didnt get it

wish i did lol, couldve kept it in our pond, i will return some other time

man..... invasive species..... such a problem..... cant keep it.... dont buy it.....

pics pics pics! those plecos are what i call skateboards, they are huge. i live in miami so ive seen some MONSTERS in the canals around here.

dont get me started on the lizards here ....everything from iguanas, to 6-8" anoles...(i think it was an anole) my husband said something about it being a something stripe racer something something...anyways, ive also seeing HUGE basilisks around my area. crazy what u can find from people just releasing pets into the wild.
