Huh?! Pleco randomly died!

i have 4 plecos, 2 species of 4 plecos, and the larger of my "whale-shark like" pleco died just within the past few hours! how on earth???

my plecos are only 2-3" and should not die at this size from what i understand!.

they are housed in a grow-out 29gal with a jack dempsey 2", tiger oscar 3.5" and the other 3 who never bothers any of them (specially not the one that died. who was the bull of them)...

i JUST installed an Aqua-Clear 200gph (50gal) power filter to go with my whisper 60 for added filtration. these two events shouldnt be connected though! i thoroughly rinced everything and none of my other fish are affected by this upgrade...

it seems like a freak accident... but i just saw him upside down, fins spread out and there is no damage on him whatsoever. i will post pics right now... but does anybody wanna take a gander at what might have caused this??!

though he was shapen like that ever since i had him. i had him for half a year and caught him at this size. wild.

wow... took the parasites that long to take its toll huh... could it be parasites? having not been in the wild for almost 6 months now?

WAIT WAIT! lol half a year my ass... hold on. lol... i joined on feb... thats the maximum i could have kept it. 3 months or less...

now im worried about my dempsey and oscar + the O'opu is from the wild too . what should i do????

do i do it in a quarantine tank? or can i do it directly from this tank and treat every fish regardless?

just do the whole tank. ignore the qt part and the carbon removal unless you just want too. the link was from a thread about qt-ing all new fish before putting them in your main tank.....which is a very good idea, just for future reference...
