Hey guys, I was planning on having a 55 gallon tank with
4 Hujeta Gar
3 Bichirs (so far i have a delhizi and an ornate) still dont know the 3rd :/
2 Rope Fish
1 tiger datnoid (only temporary until he grows up to about 8 inches then ill also move him with my arowana)
and lots of plants like Java Fern, Java Moss, Anubias Nana, Amazon Swords, crypt balanse
and even a dozen water lettuce plants for shade
as well as some driftwood and maybe even fake shelter to provide cover for each bichir/ropefish.
Yes i am aware that ornates grow over 2 feet and will end up moving him to a different aquarium with my arowana.
my question is, are hujeta gar compatible with bichirs in the long run?
ive seen both species together in a tank, but what im worried about is the size difference in the long run as hujeta grow to about 8-10 inches whereas bichirs grow depending on their species. and also ropefish are said to grow over 30 inches but in captivity only can grow between 12-16 inches.
