are hujeta actually gars? they decent fish? thinkin of getting one...any opinions or warnings? anyhting helps.

i have a hujeta. it is not considered a true gar. its a nice little fish about 5-6" now (will max out at 12"). started eating small floating pellets the day after i bought it. also eats frozen blood worms and guppies. kind of shy fish probably better in a group of 3. floating plants for cover is surely appreciated.
NO because they are a lot smaller but a good alternative, and have all the characterisitcs of gars. Mine are about 5 inch eating lancefish.

hujeta gars or rocket gars are considered freshwater barracudas and are in a different scientific family then gars
