Can anybody tell me out this fishes breeding habits, and how they are sexually diamorphic? I have two, and one has an extension to the anal fin, and i wondered if this was a gonopodium for delivering sprem or internal fertilization, or am i seeing nothing at all.

They are not gars, they are characins, and I've never heard of breeding in home aquaria.

It's possible, but very difficult...from what I've heard, you need a 2:1 male to female ratio and you have to raise the temperature to 80 or so.

But is what i think about their anal fin right?

The female has a straight edge to the anal fin, the male does not....it's more rounded. As for the other stuff, I don't know.
