what should i feed a hujeta pike i just picked one up thats about 3" ive tried pelets and bloodworms but he hasent taken them hes only been in my tank for 24 hours though so that may have something to do with it also if anyone can post any other info about them i couldent find alot about them online

look up Ctenolucius hujeta-Anne

was it hard to get them onto bloodworms cause i really dont want to feed live but i will if i have to

yeah live fish would be their favorite.. but its would be better if you train them into eating frozen foods like shrimp ;) .. and its easier to start training them early too :)

Try finely chopped mussel, prawn and mussel, ours have never eaten live and we are always complimented on how rounded they are.Drop mixture a little in front to get it to strike. One reason for reluctance to eat is that they always do better in groups of 3 or more,it gives them security. They will not get any bigger than about 10"-12" no matter what you read.Try this site http://fish.mongabay.com/ctenoluciidae.htm

This is my one he loves chopped prawns and chopped muscles guppies but his favourite is a chopped mussel takes a while to get them on non live food but mine now prefers it to having to chase after its dinner my they are fast for what they are its quite amassing the size of prawn they can get down thee throat

is there anyting special to do to keep this fish the first one i bought died within 24 hours and the 2nd one lasted about 36 hours i dont understand why the only thing i cant think of is when i turned the lights out my p.senegalus might have tried to eat it since it was so small
