hujeta/rocket gar tips anyone

I just got a hujeta gar with 2 oscars, One is an albino Tiger Oscar and ones a regular tiger.Everything is small now the oscars are about 4 inches and the gar about 6 there in a thirty gallon and about to put them in a 55. do you think they will be able to all grow up together?

First, a hujeta gar/rocket gar is not a true gar. Second, the fish may get along for now, but they may fight in the future since both oscars and rocket gars are aggressive.

The hujeta will not cause any problems but the oscar might. The hujeta needs live foods and will not attack the feeders the way a oscar will, so it may starve. They stay at the upper level of the tank most of the time so you might get lucky with a oscar

the oscars will most definitely outgrow and eat the hujetas...

Remove the Oscar from the tank, they need a bigger tank anyway.

Yea as stated.. the Oscars will outgrow and eat the hujeta.. even if they don't the oscar will eat majority of the food and chances are he will starve. Not a good fish combination at all.

I agree the Oscars will probably eat them and a 55 is kind of small for a school of Hujeta.
