A little salt (1 tbs/5g) and some melafix should help as will giving the hujeta gut loaded crickets (feed them with high quality flake fish food). It may take a few months to grow back completely.

Well folk,
Just finnished another 24hr one and what a suprise when I got home . A big fat Ornate Poly. No hujeta any more ! That was the only fish I've been attached too ,I suppose I have a free tank now but I'm really cautious about what to put in with the P. o. looks like 5" fish need to be fast movers or bigger .Can any one suggest any compatible entertaining fish ! but then again its whats available in this area and P.o. is growing fast
I might naturalise him , back to nature, via a catapult . No but part exing him has past through my mind.

i've seen my poly ornate bit my gar on the tail and slam him to the rocks...

after several tries the gar could freed himself but he's not in good condition...and he died the next day..

ornate was around 5" and gar is still back around 4"
