Ctenolucius hujeta or Freshwater Barracuda

i used to have a pair of them. they are very skittish but all in all a pretty cool fish. mine would eat pellets and live feeders. have you bought one or are you looking at buying one?

I just ordered one, and I needed some info on it. It seems to be kind of wussy though.

very tru demjor, cool speciman to add the gar look to a community tank. kinda wussy like cuz he doesn't have the teeth tru gars do. i noticed when i had mine, he just ran away from everything all day long. hides in the plants whenever there's an opportunity to.

if they are the only fish in the tank they are very cool and not so freakish. mine sure did devoure feeders. i would recommend some plant cover and just try not to spook him alot. they will bounce off the glass when scared. but the are a great non true gar. have you looked into needle noses? cool fish also.

They are actually a type of tetra. Yeah, the needle noses are cool, and fun to watch while eating.
