My Red Devil female thinks I'm a fish and she ALWAYS dances, try's to lip lock, cleans her clay pot with her mouth and fans it as well whenever I show up. If I hide and watch her though, nothing.
She's even laid eggs for me with no males present. I know bp's do it, but red devils..haha. I'm flattered.
Anyways currently trying to breed her with a smaller red texas male, seperated by acrylic divder seeing as she'll kill the my male without it.
Male is slightly interested, shows breeding colors sometimes, but the female isnt and just rams the divider then the male loses interests. When I show up though it's a different story, she goes bonkers. As soon as the male senses this he wakes up and goes into dancing mode as well.
So, my plan is to stick around the tank long enough for the female to lay eggs-which has happened once already, and use the old rotate-the-plate-under-the-divider-trick to get the eggs to the males side.
