Compatibility question.

I have 3 Bala sharks, 1 Red Oscar, 1 Raibow shark. So far almost 1 month in the newly added Oscar seems to be doing fine, he is eating being a honorable aquatic citizen.

The three Bala's are 5 - 6 inches and the Rainbow about 4.5 - 5 inches. I worry less about the bala's then the rainbow, they seem to do fine with nippy fish, Blade (RIP) my Red Tail shark was a mean nasty fish. The Bala's just moved and wen on about their day, the rainbow always hid out only venturing out at night. Plus if He had it to rough I would put the rainbow in my 29 gallon bio cube.

Does any one have experience with Keeping Bala's and Cichlids together? Do you think I can ad another one or 2 cichilds?

The ones I was choosing from are as follows.

NW/American

Green Terror.
Electric Blue Jack Dempsey.
Texas or Green Texas Cichlid.
Flower Horn.

African
Electric Blue

As long as you have room its possible. If the balas are fast they can survive, but if the cichlids get a chance they will not hesitate in biting or killing them. Although, on some occasions cichlids will ignore other non-cichlid fish. I would go with less aggressive cichlids. My cichlids ignore the danios I have with them, but if they swim too close they will try to bite them.

So the stunning flower horn is probably out of the question? The bala's are fast little buggers, I love when the door the "Shark" thing and swim so just their dorsal fine in above the water. The wake the create is crazy for the size they are.

I am open for suggestions. I am really looking to ad about 2 more 8 - 12 inch fish. 84x24x24 tank. It will be over stocked but I think 6 fish in the 8" - 12" range should be able to move about okay.

Please feel free to tell me my tank is to small, but at least give good suggestions on what else I might stock.

No one else? No suggestions? should I just get some dawf cichlids in teh 3 -6 inch size?
