That is it. I have had it.

I have been trying to get my Humerosa on trout worms for two weeks now, trying both the starvation and the marinade methods to no avail. Well for some reason I decided to see if my new Yepezi, of 4 days, would take to the worms easier, and he eat them like a champ. Without fuss he would eat 1/4 worms like nothing. My larger, fatter, more experienced Humerosa when presented with the same size pieces buried herself in the sand....what is with her.

One thing is for sure my humerosa is pissing me off. But since I know the newbie is eating worms that is all I am going to feed for the next week. I will win this battle.......I hope.

I would suggest the problem is not that your humerosa is being finnicky, but in some other stress. No doubt the whole experience of travelling to land in your tank has been traumatic, and some rays (or any other animal) just never adapt.

My LFS sold a ray a few years ago that had not eaten in the store (they offered full warranty on the ray). It did not eat for a few weeks at the customer's home, then one day spit out a fish hook. Since then, that ray is doing great.

We all win some and lose some.

Good luck.
