I have a common Pleco, he is big in the middle but when he swims around he almost seems to have a hunch back is that normal or possible? is that just from him staying in one position? the hunch kinda makes him fit into places better.

will need a picture to see clearly.. but a hunch back isnt normal at all.. It could be injured when young...

I dont think it will create any problems for it.. if it hasn't died yet... so it should be fine.. but a picture will give me a more precise judgment on the pleco's condition..

That's normally a sign of being in a tank too small. What size tank and what's the size of the pleco?

thats the normal curvature of his body, he was never like that as i've grown him over the year, he started in a 5gallon moved to a twenty and now into the 55, however he never had his back like that until he was in the 55.

Would be better if u take a picture of it flat down.. not exactly on the glass.. but that curve isn't normal.. looks like the pleco has a curved spine...

He should be ok.. it doesnt seem to effect him in anyways.. but.. i would closely monitor him...

Was this a recent move? or been awhile... (in ur 55gallon that is)

he has been in the 55 since tthe first week of november so over two months, until that point he'd been in a 20 gallon since march but seems like he's grown substantially since he's been in the 55.
