Alright, I read the sticky and searched. I'm just wondering what was the longest strike anyone has gone though.

I have had three endli's since they were 5-6". Eating pellets like crazy since day 1. They are all 15-16" now. For the past 3 weeks they have not touched a thing. I recently changed up the pellets a bit and they chowed down on the new pellets for a good 2 weeks and then nothing. Tried switching back to the original pellets and still nothing, meanwhile all the smaller poly's are still eating though. :irked:

whats pellets did you use to use and now? mine love massivore delightes but there a bit pricier than regular carnivore pellets

They eat started on Sinking Carnivore, Massivore Delight. Switched to / mixed in Sinking Cichlid Gold.

i've only used massivores and they seem to love it (not really sure since there facial experssion always look the same)

i hear market shrimp is good and im gonna try that

I feed market shrimp to my rays once and a while but they are eating machines and will not get spoiled. I stay away from market shrimp and my poly tank cause I have a feeling they'll get spoiled and only eat that. If worse comes to worse, I'll drop some in.

Hello,

here is a somewhat strange statement to this theme ...
Bichirs are not eating soooo much one would think - massive fish with lower appetite ( have you ever seen a catfish eating? :-) ). Sometimes they have abreak, no one knows why. Mine are also practizing. This is the fact without more influence by the keeper.

Another influence - and this is the keepers duty - is the water itself ... and the gorwing of special algae! Some of them are smelling bad, even to the bichirs with their superfine olfactory sense. I could watch this behavior since i'm not able to clean up tanks like i did when i were healthy.
The bichirs are smelling at the food (ifthe would find it behind the clouds of stinky algae) but will be desinterested. Thats the time to change water - and all will be fine!
It works in my tanks - but would it work in any other tank? I don't know ... every bichir community has it's owm behaviour and rules.

Try it - you won't do anything with damage.

Greetings
Uwe
