Kinda funny but unfortunate. I left for the weekend and the GT went without food for two days. He was so excited to eat a worm he lept out of the water grabbed the worm and swam full speed into an aquaclear 110 hitting it so hard it moved. He has a nice little gash on his head. Should I -

a. Dose salt

b. Try melafix

c. Do nothing and change the water twice a week until it heals.

Or any combination of the three.

If he's swimming normally, he's fine. Just keep the water as clean as possible until it heals, and be sure to feed him plenty.

At which point did the fish bite you?

When he jumped out and grabbed the worm he got a bit of thumb. It didn't break the skin but it was pretty crazy to see him come half out of the water with an open mouth. He loves worms but damn.
LOL!....hope it pulls through. One of my red hooks got spooked a few weeks ago and rammed one of the panels of the tank.He knocked himself silly and couldn't hold himself up properly for nearly a week.

He doesn't seem fazed I just did a 60% water change and substrate vac. I'm just going to keep a close eye on the wound for a day or two before adding anything but clean water. Surprisingly he didn't bleed or anything its right by his hump and its just white under there.

Sounds like fatty tissue.
