For many years I've been happy with My 1971 Mach 1 Mustang... and I still am. However there was another car I loved(call me weird) but it was a 1976 Blue Woody Chevette (there's a link at the bottom for those that don't know what it is). My Chevette met a sad ending(some of it my fault).

Well, the Chevette bug has been bothering me as of late and I've noticed they are harder to find then a 71 Mustang.

The wife has agreed to me getting a Chevette if I sell the Mustang (afterwards). I found one the other day that matched what I wanted.
However I noticed today that the ads for it have been pulled. I did call and leave a message today... hope he has it still.

Here's what I'm looking for:

1976-1978(1976 preferred)
Air conditioner - a must
2 door - preferred
Baby blue(color) - preferred
Woody(body trim) - preferred
4-speed - preferred
body and engine decent - preferred

Some are asking why swap the Mustang for the Chevette?

The Mustang is not practical for my wife and 16 month old daughter. No A/C (not good in 100 degrees) . It's noisy and smells(burns rich as it needs it for the take offs) Right now only driving it about once a month. I can see driving the Chevette more often and with the rest of the family.

Anyone else have unusual car projects?

There used to be a guy out here in LA that used to street race one. Obviously had a V8 and did the sweetest wheelstands. Don't expect that's what you want for your girls, but I understand wanting an oddball. I'm looking for a 78ish AMC Pacer. I already have a V8 Vega, but the Pacer will be my family car :) Goodluck!

nice choice. I love odd projects...most people think I'm crazy for liking late 80's and early-mid-90's FWD GM's. I want to build an ecotec-powered FWD nova or le mans

I won't mind a V8 as long as it's street legal and has an A/C

That's funny, I already bookmarked that Chevette a few days ago as a back up but I want to hold off for now
