As I sit here I am watching my 22 inch silver aro take a very close interest in the 6-7 inch bala shark that I have left in the tank with him and the tsn for the past month or so.

I have watched the tsn stalk this fish and now the aro is looking very close to snapping the bala up. He is just not sure as to whether or not he can fit the little guy in. It is very interesting to watch the hunt go on.

What is interesting to me is this I can tell the bala shark knows it is being stalked because of its movements.

It swims to the bottom only to realize that the 20 inch tsn is looking at it, just to swim back up to have the aro constantly doing the s turn and get cornered by the aro.

I was wondering what you guys find to be the favourite fish of yours to leave in with your pred's to hunt. I have left the bala in because it is a fast little fish and I want for my pred's to have a challenge.

Here is a pic of when my tsn struck one of the largest cichlids that was in the tank with them. Wish it was a better pic, but dang a tsn is fast when it hits.

last pic is down the hatch she goes!!!!!

I have taken some shots of the hunt the aro is doing and most probably won't be here for the take down or I might take out the bala and drop in some of the cichilds, since mr bala has survived the gladiator arena for so long.

I do find it real funny that the aro will come close but wont strike it seems somewhat put off from hitting the bala from the back and the bala seems to know this and is making sure its face is against the glass.

So now the ? comes to mind what kinds of fish do you like to watch your fish hunt and have their been any proposed meals that you have allowed to go free because they did so well in escaping sure death.

I could not wait here are the pics of the hunt and the hunted

he was not skinny 5 days ago that is for sure!

I try not to over feed the tank, and sometimes I like to give the fish a week off of feeding. I find sometimes that prepared foods cause bloat. Most often I used ocean nutrition foods, but the last pellets I put in had some wheat and soy to them and caused some bloat so I chose a week off to allow it to purge.

Yeh I would imagine a tsn makes it hard to get a good grip on a bolt they are kind of slippery and they really don't like being touched, how you get it to bite a bolt hard enough is a mystery to me

just got to coat the bolt in some fish oil:ROFL:

it might be your week off...i fed mine every day to every 2 days...they had some serious shoulders...

I also forgot to add one thing earlier. I am sort of also wanting to see if the tsn can take down this bala shark. In addition to giving it a week to purge the food my wife got me that had the fillers.

As I am sitting here with all the lights off a very crazy thing is happening in the tank it is like the aro and the tsn are working tandem to herd the bala and invite it to dinner. I snapped some pics that I will post later . It is very interesting the way the tsn is using its feelers to try and find the bala, even more interesting is how the tsn is putting it body in a verticle up or down and has come close a couple of times to finind mr bala. I would suppose that the bala shark will last no more than a couple more days in this tank. The tsn almost got him.

I am going to be adding about 10 med size cichlids in the next day or so .

So enough of my fish tell me what do you like to see your fish hunt and what kind of fish doing the hunting pictures if you have them would be great as well.

I will post up the pics I just took later.

i geuss i was so caught up in the hunting that i never took a pic...i do have a pic of the affter effect though
