Ok Long story short:

Hurricane Sandy is a *****. I just got power back from last Monday night... No heat power ect.

I was as prepared as I could have been. I had battery powered air pumps. And my Generator running on intervals to keep some filtration and heat going on and off.

I have a 110g tank with a Pike and a Gulper Cat and a 90g with my Trimac and Gullatus. I moved my fish to a hospital rack system at my parents I have just in-case of something like this. As many might have seen in NJ gas lines exceed a 4 hour wait sometimes with limits on fuel and some deny cans. So keeping my generator running was a challenge. However, power is back today!!! score~! So my question is this. My tanks are not completely crashed. Would you recommend doing like a big 50-75% WC. and a 2x dose of prime, then giving it a day or so then I can re acclimate my fishes? I've never dealt with this unique scenario before. So any ideas are great? Like what about gravel cleaning? Is the bacteria bad now? Dead? ect?

Thanks guys~!

The bacteria would not be dead but sort on in remission. They have`nt been feed for a week so numbers may be down. Since no one has been home I don`t see any reason to change the water, which is done to reduce dissolved metabolics. If you have a protein slime on the top of the water then I would do it.

If you have the time, run every thing for a day to make sure your temperature is good, then move your fish back home. Give them a couple days and then do a water change to keep ammonia from spiking as your tanks get up to speed. Best of luck!

I lost power for about 24 hours - temps got in the high to mid 50s. I didn't lose any fish but I was worried about the BB in my filters. I did a big water change on each tank as soon as power was restored. It might not have been necessary but I figured it wouldn't hurt in any case.
