Ok this morning when I fed my fish I noticed that my one bleeding heart has a sore on his side. It actually kind of looks like a burn. He's swimming around as usual and he's been eating. I'll try to test my water tomorrow. I just did a 20% water change on Wednesday. I do a water change once a week usually a 20% water change. So my water should be good.

My friend thinks that another fish bite him but I'm not sure. I'm going to move him up into my ten gallon with my betta fish and treat him with some melafix. Is that what I should do for him? I don't want him to get sick and die. Here are pictures of him.

I thought that too but then would he lean up against the heater?
Do you think I should treat him with melafix or should it heal up on it's own?

Looks like a normal fish bruise to me, it may have freaked out and bumped against something in the tank, they normally clear up within a week or so, if the fish is otherwise acting normally I'd just keep an eye on it for the time being.

just up the temp and add some salt, but not much. 1 degree a day until about 82-84. it'll be fine

Thanks for the advice everyone. I did put salt in the tank and I'll try to raise the temperature. I raised the temp to 78 degrees today. I'll raise the temp up a degree tomorrow.
