dropped a stray cricket in tank & baby O switched to the wild side!
SO much more exciting than anything he'd done so far (no feeder fish).
Umm, so the man bought crickets.
the 'plus' side is, he's VERY into watching the O become a "seek & destroy" mini-monster. It's begging from him, looking for crickets. yeah, the O starts patrolling the whole surface, even breeching it over plant tops to nab one. he slurps them loud!
Even teen granddaughters enjoyed the performance. LOL.
the 'down' side is, O is ignoring pellets.
I gut load them: grated carrots provide moisture, and fish food as protein.
It's only been this week, but I want to balance nutrition with family involvement.
I've read, & know crickets aren't ideal. so any ideas about letting this play out, but not having the O become spoiled rotten?
He never ignored pellets bcuz of worms, but crickets make him act wild!
