Hybrid and have no idea what it is. Please help

The body does resemble a mayan...never seen a mayan x jd...but does look the part. Hope you didnt pay too much when you first got it

I made up my mind before reading suggestions. My first guess is also dempsey x mayan. Powerful traits from both pure lineages present on this fish. Other possibilities include dempsey x other hybrid, where it's anyone's guess why certain traits have dominated to resemble a mayan.

Jag/parachromis also did come to mind, based on the gill plate. But it's not solid, that look could happen for any number of reasons.
