Ok so, i went to walmart, and for the first time, i went into their aquarium section. First thing i saw, Aquarium plants. it says "LIVE AQUARIUM PLANTS* Easy to Grow! Just drop the bulbs into the aquarium and watch the grow (6" to 8" in just 15 days). And bla bla bla. But i was wondering. I have looked it up on the internet and most people say they sprout within 3 - 10 days. But i was wondering, If i put it in one of those little breeder cages, (plastic thing with slits in the sides) that floats towards the top. What if i just put the bulbs in there so they are close to the light, (its a 5 gallon tank with a 10 Watt florescent). Its pretty tall (for a 5 gallon). anyway, and it just floated there until its about 2 inches and then i put it on the bottom, would this work any better or should i just drop them at the bottom and hope they get enough light?
