In my opinion not cool at all. If these fish are stocked in ponds with an access to natural waters they could change the population of catfish in a very bad way. Even if they cannot reproduce they would compete with normal catfish and cause a decline in natural populations.

But depends is it a natrual hybrid:confused: if so cant there be some in water that still havent affected the natrual population of other catfish. But if not natrual then i agree with you.

I wasn't saying to release it into the waterways. I think it's natural because the Blue Catfish isn't really kept in captivity. I just meant it looks cool.

Blue catfish populations are really low and we dont need a hybrid in blue catfish's waterways. But as long as the hybrids stay in manmade ponds i have no problem with it.

Fish released into ponds almost never stay there, if someone is breeding these fish rest assured they will escape from ponds into the wild. Most ponds that stock native catfish are part of or subject to floods from natural waters. So many fish that were supposed to stay in man made ponds are now causing untold problems, stocking ponds with fish you do not want to move to natural waters is always a bad move.....
