So is it because the mom's eggs that make her gene dominate or is it because the Texas gene always dominate?

coool looking fish

I have no idea what genes are dom or recessive. I will try to get som pics of the sibling we still have. We sold or gave away most of them. We have another batch of hybrids growing out. These are also redhead cichlid with a fenestratus. Think these guys will be cool too. We don't want to breed these guys in fact when fish pair off and spawn we split them up. I never realized how willing some of these guys are to cross breed.

I wonder where those strong vertical bars came from. Red Head has no vertical bars. Texas has big dots and weak vertical bars. Is there a chance that your Texas has Convict genes?
