This is one of my favorites rays of all time. I had hoped to somehow reproduce these so I went on a search for any similiar rays that I could start with.

First I found this female on the right:

And while I was looking for the perfect male to set her up on her first date I put in a few friends-

Right before I am heading out of town for 10 days I come across this one in Thailand. I get a one line message saying it's a female and available. Problem I can only get her shipped to me the day before I leave. So it's either do it or loose it-so I go for it.

The day I get the new ray- one of my tanks springs a leak. I end up working on it for 24 hours trying to get it back together before I leave- Thankfully the new ray arrives healthy and blessedly eats within minutes of arriving. But everything else is in total chaos while I'm trying to get ready to leave and repair a tank and acclimate a new ray.FUN!

Well I finally get back into town and I am looking over the new ray. Seems like it is doing well and eating great. While I'm admiring it I start thinking I just need a male to go with these 2 awesome females. I think if I can find the right male I may have a chance to make that super hybrid in the video. Then the new ray decides to climb the front glass and I notice something ODD!

Claspers!
Oh yeah baby- we got claspers! The new "female" is a male!
This is one mistake I'm not going to complain about!
