i received him from a neighbor a long while ago.. .. he was just a fry when given to me.. along with 3 others that did not survive..now that he is maturing and coloring up i thought i ask about him.. what do you think now?View attachment 401391

just a guess, looks like a hybrid, but i can definitely see Sciaenochromis fryeri in the body, but the head looks like the red empress, but could be anything. the S. fryeri head is more slender .

Looks like it could well be a Sciaenochromis Fryeri and Metriaclima Zebra hybrid.

Definitely looks like S. fryeri x mbuna. Very pretty though.
