Possible hybrid or maybe just a higher quality fish? Most black belts I see are very dull in color

They change colors quite a bit as they put on size which by the way they put on size very quickly and get pretty nasty

Had this guy since 1.5” and when I got him he looked like what I see most black belts look like but since I’ve had him he gets more color by the day. Even to today he does

Are those your fish? Gorgeous. I’ve had mine for almost a year and instead of size he gets color

Another reason I’m wondering if it’s a possible hybrid or just higher quality fish

I gave him a bigger tank 3x already so he grows well

Might be the reason. I’ve been thinking of keeping him a bit longer and not rehoming on Friday and putting in my 75g when I get it on Friday and gave it set up
