Yeah, the one that got attacked, just matted with the attacker lol. I guess that makes him an abusive spouse.

i just walked in on them in the corner of my tank, i almost broke them up with a stick knowing their history... but then i noticed they were "making up" with each other.

they are brother and sister, i wasint shooting for them to mate.. it just kinda happend... you think imbreed will cause any defects? what do you think the odds of her getting eggs will be?

Well it should be like a normal shrimp mating right? But they should be ok!If only horned nerite snails and elephant snails could hybrid...It's be awsome!

Inbreeding always has a chance of causing defects (in any species). However, and unfortunately, with a lot of crayfish breeders... breeding brother to sister, offspring to parent, and so forth is rather common. And it seems that it takes several generations before obvious or serious health issues and defects start showing up (not to say that a defect or health issue couldn't show up on the first shot).

From personal and observed experience, she should berry from the encounter. The issue(s) that may occur will more likely be from hybrids breeding and not siblings. Siblings readily produce berries with each other, but with hybrids... you don't know whether the created hybrids may be infertile, have a genetic issue that may prevent eggs from producing or developing properly, etc.

Wait and see, if she's going to berry it should occur in the near future. ^_^

She hasent berryed yet, should i be worried?

Nah, if it hasn't happened within a couple of weeks (some will berry a few days later, some a few weeks later. Generally, if it hasn't occurred within a month it's not going to), then you might want to re-introduce them and try again.

Ah ok, i've noticed she's alot more defencive and hides more. her tail looks semi curled up.

That's a good sign, when the female starts to lose interest in the male after mating and begins to be more reclusive than normal she's likely to be gearing up to berry. She'll start looking for a good hiding spot and slowly lose interest in food, and poof! Berry! Keep an eye out and keep us updated! ^_^
