The HRP Rio Danli (dad) and Convict (mom) babies are growing fast and coloring up. Not as much blue as I would expect, but the red in the fins and tail are coming in nicely.

I have one male and two females. The male is almost as big as the full grown 3.5" female HRP Leucistic. He taunts her all the time.

I found two more in the tank from another spawn that are about 3/4".

Plus there is another fresh spawn that the parents are guarding.

Too bad they are hybrids :(

Really cool! HRP's and Convicts always remind me of little french bulldogs, thinking they are a big dawgs!

I agree. I have pure HRP and 50+ of their babies to get rid of. The female Con killed the female HRP and stole her mate. I found these guys in the tank and let them grow just to see them. I guess I'm stuck with them now.

You may as well go all the way and toss in a Salvini and a Firemouth and whatever else is small and will breed. Hybrids are best used for making hybrids, and the more dissimilar they are to Convicts and HRP's, the less chance of them being mistaken for pure.

Not hating just seen these too many times. I have convict x cutteri that I tried to feed to stuff the problem is I found them later @ 1"+ so I had to pull them now I have 5 of them that will never leave my tanks.

I forgot about Cutteri and Sajica!

Stock your tank with a Convict, a Cutteri, a Firemouth, an HRP, a Sajica and a Salvini. Randomly choose the sexes and then cull out the pure fish as they breed.

With all the work and effort that has gone into creating all the different sorts of FH's, it seems odd that no one has worked with the smaller cichlids in a similar fashion.
