In a recent post, I wanted to know if it was possible for some of my chiclids to crossbreed because a fish in one of my tanks appeared to be mouthbrooding and there are no two of the same species in the tank. All I got was responses from a bunch of idiots telling me I was "irrisponsible" for allowing this to happen and the "responsible" thing to do would be to feed them to some predators. It is in no way responsible to feed a living thing to another living thing just because you dont like it. Also I have been told that its not logical to make the argument of Hitler killing the Jews and people not liking mixed human babies. It is the very same thing. I was told that using the argument that if God didnt want it to happen then it wouldnt be possible was also illogical. Well, since I dont see and half man/half sheep walking around where you live I think its pretty logical. I dont believe in man made hybrids either. I believe in letting nature take its course, and that is what happened in my tank. If you dont like it, thats tough! What are you gonna do about it? Nothing. What can you do about it? Nothing. Maybe you can do the responsible thing and keep your oninopns to yourself and stick to the facts. Hybrids happen in nature all the time. Go ride a mule off a cliff.

I usually stay in the "African section" to enjoy intelligent discussions. Hopefully, others will see the pattern you are creating like I did when I saw your background of posts. I won't defend the FACTUAL responses you were give in the other section. They were FACTS and not OPINIONS. It is also a fact that you have started two similar threads and been a party to a third that have all been locked. Seems like you like to get things heated. You asked for advice from experienced and knowlegable people, were given it, and didn't like what you heard so you went all childish. I restate that you find it almost impossible to find any educated African cichlid keeper that holds a pro-hybrid position. You surely will find many "Cool dude" responses outside of the african cichlid circle. Hybrids do not happen in Lake Malawi except for the two examples known to be done by man.
As far as the rift lakes go, it's not a discussion like religion, it's about ethics and conservation. For those here that think otherwise, they have not researched the catastrophe in Lake Victoria that was caused by ignorance of man. I and all the others like me can do nothing about your non-fact based irresponsible posts except to keep trying to educate newbies and other less advanced members of the hobby. Maybe when you enter high school you can come back with some intelligent pro-hybrid discussions as you have been challenged to do so. Last fact, no veteran African keeper will tell you "Cool dude" no matter where you go on the internet. I think you know that, and you just like to get things going as shown in your other posts.

Nothing wrong with hybrids. Most of commonly available african cichlids are hybrids anyway, so chances are your fish are mixed regardless.

You didn't intend to cross-breed, so nothing "irresponsible" on your part.

If you like the babies, keep them. If you don't, then they make great fish food.

Done.
