I'm thinking of using a 300W Hydor inline ETH heater on my setup. I've used a 200W on an old tank and liked it a lot. Unfortunately the hose connections are 5/8" and I've currently designed my setup with 3/4"

Do you think I could make the unit work with 3/4" hose if I use a hose clamp?

Also, how much flow can you safely push through these?

The 3/4" hose might be too big to clamp directly to the heater, but you can get a double hose barb reducer to go from the 3/4" to the 5/8". It's probably too specialized of an item to find at home depot, but I found some at a boating supply store. As for how much flow you can safely put through it, I can't say exactly. I imagine as long as your connections aren't leaking it will be fine, but you might find that it restricts flow too much for your liking by going to the smaller diameter.
