how good are hydor heaters i just picked up 2 because i turned in my stelths and hydor was the only brand they had in stock that would be big enough for my tank

yea

I have 2 of them, 400 watt. One seemed to never turn off after a few months. I got a replacement free of charge. Then the other one started to do the same thing some months later (could have been the replacement, I'm not sure). I am not at all satisfied with them.

Me either. I bought a 300 watter that has to be adjusted as low as possible and it still heats the water to about 88 degrees. Perfect for my qt tank which is where it's stayed ever since. Not a big fan

I got two hydor inline heaters and they are fantastic, can not fault them they keep the temp bang on and are outside the tank so not viable in the display area.Certainly would not go back to the standard in tank heater again unless it was for a sump system.

ive got 2 300 theo in my 125 and it stays around 82-84 for my pbass, and one 300 theo in my 55 with my cichlids and it stays at 82, ive had no issues with mine and only need to adjust with the seasons, due mainly to me prefering a meat locker for a room temp.
