I recently purchased and installed 2 Hydor Koralia 4's. I have one placed on the rear left wall of the tank, and one on the rear right wall. They are mounted up high, facing inward, toward the front of the tank, at a 45 degree angle. The flow of each power head bounces off the front of the glass and probably crosses path with the other power head, in the middle of the tank. I'm getting good water movement. I've noticed that food particles seem to float more and are more easily being sucked into my FX5's intake, thus improving my water clarity. I once found a internet review of the Hydor Koralia power heads, that claimed that one is supposed to point the power heads in a manner that will allow for crossing of water flow. That might include bouncing the flow off of the walls of the tank. It implied that the more bouncing off the walls of the tank, the more water movement would be the yield. This makes sense. I'm just wondering if any of you might be switching your flow path or do you keep the power heads in one position, facing one direction. The pivitol mounting makes them so easy to move. I just want to maximize the use of these power heads.

I have my powerheads both pointed toward the right (inward slightly) My Flowerhorn Cichlid tends to ram in to the one, so I constantly have to readjust it.

is this in a saltwater tank or freshwater? the cross flow is great for them especially how you have it setup

I have mine set the same. I have 2 koralia 4's. One on the right and left back panels. I have the left one at a 45 and the right one almost straight on to the front. I love them, plenty of water movement in my 220
