Hydor Koralia Pumps

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have 2 of the model 4, and i love em, they keep current moving in different directions which eliminated dead spots, and the flow is strong but not tough on fish. And if u have smaller tanks, their suction draws from a much larger area causing it to be much less, and eliminating fish getting killed or injured by it.

Haven't had any good experience with Hydor products. I've had an air pump and heater from them and they crapped out on me in less than 4 months.

How does fish get kill or injure from power head?

I have a standard 180, what model u recommend? i have large aro and some rays + dats

Thanks

I used to have 2 aquaclear 802s (400gph ones) in my tank just for added current, and some of my smaller fish small salvini, orange xingu pike got sucked into it and killed.

I just added a Koralia #3 to my 55. It might be a little strong, but the fish seem to like it. We'll see how it works out. It is a little big though. I may hide it with some rockwork.

Using the "quick filter" cages, with or without the inserts, eliminates the problem.

Actually, Hydor products are supposed to be pretty good. I've got 2 water pumps with heaters for smaller tanks, and they have been working great. I also have 2 Hydor ETH300 Inline Heaters, and a Hydor ETH201 Inline heater on my XP's, and all have been running great, even after running 1 of the heaters with no water in the line, lol. Had a rush of steam coming out of the top of the aquarium, but didn't hurt the heater. Still working perfectly.
