I'm looking to get a hydor heater, can someone advise what heater wattage is needed for a 150g tank? Summer temp here is 80-108. Winter is 45-70.

I read that anywhere from 2-5 watts per gallon. I guess it really depends on where you are keeping it indoors in a garage and how much you insulate the tank. ive been following that rule and its worked out fine

Does the fish room get to 40F? If so you are going to need several beefy heaters. I'd also think about insulating the sides and top of the tank with styrofoam.

I also have a theo 400w on my 120 gallon and it works great and keeps the temp the same without fluctuation.

It rarely reaches below 50 here. But every now and then it does. Would one 300w hydor be enough for a 5x2x2 tank?

May as well make it a 400 watt. The hydor theo 300 watt heated up my 180 but took a few days to get from 68 to 80 by itself.
