I was wondering about this stuff. I see it everywhere when I'm fishing and little streams around my house. I know it gets huge and clogs up waterways, but can it be kept in an aquarium? What are the requirements? I can't find much about it on the internet. Just the negative effects of it on local waterways and whatnot.

I've kept it one of my tanks, it was in my high light tank and grew just fine, and I was following EI dosing regime.

Do you think it will grow okay under regular florescent lights(standard aquarium hood ones)?

Under the standard T8 lights it might, but because it grows in natural water ways under a good amount of sunlight it's very likely it might not make the transition to low lighting.
