HYDRO GARS?????????????

JUST LEFT THE LFS AND THEY HAVE 2 HYDRO GARS FOR 11.99 EA. ANY INFO ON THESE?

Yeah there have been quite a few posts here about "hydro Gars" that are turning out to be florida/spotted gars which are 100% Illegal in California. Interestingly enough everyone seems to be around San Diego.

It's hard to tell. They also could be something otherwise known as a "Rocket Gar" which is not a true gar so it would be legal. Only pictures can tell, but my guess would be it's false gar considering the name and price. What size were they?

All the "hydro gars" I've seen/heard about have turned out to be false gar (characins). Not hujetas but the mosaic gar/marbled gar.

could be one of the boulengerella or ctenolucius species,but might be a true gar as well.
