hey guys

First of all I want so say sorry... the quality of this pictures isn't very good.
But it's very hard to make good pictures of him because of his swim behaviour and my scratched glas front.

but here they are;
New pics of my (real) Hydrocynus brevis. Does anybody own this species, too? Two years ago, nobody in this board has owned this species. And now?
The only pictures I found are the two pics on fishbase. They show an adult H. brevis.
Mine is about 8,4" now.
The last pictures shows him at about 2". He was in a very bad condition and the only tigerfish in that import, who survived. And he was the only brevis between 20 "normal" H. vittatus.

Sweet! I like the underbite :D
What size tank is he in? What's he feeding on? How's his aggression to other tankmates?

Thanks for sharing :D

Looks so tough fish, congrats!

It's a ~ 115 Gallon tank with 82" length.

What's he feeding on?
Well he's a very "aggressive eater". Main food for him is fish (stint) and shrimps.

How's his aggression to other tankmates?
I can't say much about his behaviour. He has been the only fish which doesn't prefer the ground in that tank for a long while.
I'm going to put some Hydrolycus in theren soon. I don't think that he'll bother them.

yes, today he really likes the cam, so it was possible to make some better pics of him.
As you can see, he looks a little bit thinner as before.... that's after one day without feeding. It seems that he has a really fast metabolism.
You can see directly, when he got his last dinner...:D
