I saw this video on youtube of a guy pouring hydrogen peroxide into his fresh and saltwater tanks and it was eating away the algae right away, green hair algae. Do you guys think it would work or should i not risk it?

idc if an expert told me it was fine i would never do that! it just doesnt seem healthy.

Peroxide can be used at the proper dose during a power outage to add oxygen to a tank. I have never heard of it being used in anything other than emergency power outages, furthermore I would not add peroxide to a tank unless you know EXACTLY what you are doing.

I add peroxide to my tank to neutralize potassium perm.

Erm... Don't we dump peroxide on wounds to kill bacteria? I'm sure you know where I'm going with this....

It does work with getting rid of algae/bacteria as well as increasing O2.

However, it all depends on the dosage. I wouldn't pour a bottle in there unless u know what u were doing.

Hydrogen peroxide is basically just water with an extra oxygen attached to it. The oxygen bond is weak and it dissolves easily to become water and oxygen.
