This maybe some new info for some, but for those who don't know Hydrogen Peroxide will save fish in power outage emergency. Just use a cap full per/10gallons(contact LFS). I don't no about the long term affect on plants(contact LFS), but I will rahter replace plants than fish. I only used it for a week two years ago during a week long power outage we had in Maryland. Just trying to give some useful info. Happy fish keeping!

I have never heard of this before. More info please?

It will put oxygen in water. I have used this method myself in a power outage. I got this useful info now brace yourself from a local PETSMART worker, and it worked.

It can also be used as a treatment for algae. Do spot treatments on bad areas of algae and it will be gone in no time. Works great on the dreaded BBA.
