Just today, I noticed some white thing on my Payara. It looks kind of like some kind of white fungus. I am not saying it is fungus, but I want to know if I should start sweating about it or not. If I do have to sweat about it, please would somebody tell me how to treat it and how to get rid of the problem. Here is a picture of my payara and its white....thing. Appreciate any kind of help available.

Pic is too small to see anything can you post a larger picture. Please post your water parameters, ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, Ph and temperature. Do a 50% water change and substrate vacuming test water before water change.

+1
I would after massive water change and tank cleaning buy a big bottle of MELAFIX and treat him IMO. Looks like this will be a tough fight good luck. Then after that I would treat with Prazipro for parasites and stay away from goldfish.

Thank you for all your help.

Keep us posted! Now would be a great time to add a group of small feeder fish while you are dosing so he can have some energy. Then after he is better he can be starved and switch to silver sides, krill, tilapia stuffed with pellets etc all from what I have been doing and learned on the forum of course.

Hopefully Rob and the guys can give there advice also. Just to me it looks like a fungus but could be wrong.

any update on your soldier?

I don't think you should be feeding him live feeder fish unless the feeders have been quarantined for a few weeks. Also, your fishes immune system has probably been comprimised and even quarantined feeders still might have diseases that your fish can't fight off.
