Easiest way to tell it's an armatus is the second little dorsal fin is red with a black spot on it. Tats have it too but the tats is mainly black in color. Tats eyes are also a lot bigger making them look more awkward. But once you see a lot of pics and see them in person and keep them all, you catch on to little stuff like that and makes it easier to Id them.

My tank is about 1400 Liter an i have a lot of fish in it.
3 orbignyi rays, 3 Florida gars, 1 datnoid, 1 hoplias Curupira , 1 Black Aro , 1 l95, 1 south american lungfish.
They are all juveniles except the l95 and i am just testing what is my favorite stock for this tank.
Would the Army be a good choice to comm with my fish?
I heard a lot of bad things about mixing armatus with other fishes.
The other fishes are about 6-8 inches and the Armatus is 5 inches big.
I dont want trouble in my tank.
I read florida gars and armatus is a no go and you cant comm a armatus with anything.
Probably i wont take the risk.
