Hi All,

Whats everyones opinion on these? are they just a poor mans armatus or are they still a good fish? a couple have popped up for sale for what would work out around $100 each for you lot... 6" so not too small? are they any crack? anybody got any videos of their own? Whats growth rate like?

cheers for any info
Sam

They don't get bigger than a foot, they grow very slowly, they have very short natural life spans, the poor mans armatus is Hydrolycus tatauaia which sells for about $100-150, most scombs at 6" sell for no more than $65. Of course after shipping it would be more than that, though, if you bought from a vendor.

^Pretty much their entire life. Once they get to 12", if they get that big, they're getting quite close to death.

Oh wow, that doesnt sound like a great investment hahaha, I'll wait until armatus season I think!

Thanks for the info mate, saved me a pretty penny,

Save up for an armatus. Scombs are just 100 bux of heart break.

it's also possible to shoal armatus..if you have a big enough tank.

Ive had no problems shoaling Armatus and Tattuaia .. But I'm Payarakeeper, so my name wouldn't make sense if i couldn't... :P
