So I have a 4 month old puppy now, I got her at 2 months. She's a boxer mix. She's learned how to sit, lay, shake, and stay. But sometimes she gets really hyper and won't listen when I tell her to leave things alone when she starts chewing on things that arent hers. But other times she will, its only when she gets in these little puppy fits, and sometimes she will bark and nip when she wants to be played with, were working on training her but I just wanted to know if this is normal, shes really young, I assume its just puppy play but my girlfriend thinks theres something wrong with her. I dont want any regrets on getting her. I feel like she will be a great dog in a little while. Lately weve been busy with work and havent had the time to give her the attention she needs but I cut back on my hours so I will have more time to give her attention. Any advice is appreciated, weve done a lot of research on the matter and I feel with more time she will be able to be a good puppy but right now she is stressful. Also I got in an argument with my girlfriend, she thinks we need to hire someone, I truly think she will outgrow it (with some training from us of course), what are your takes?

She's a puppy. She's bound to do the whole :nilly: thing

Thats what I figured, I just got on a boxer site and theyre saying they are super hyper as puppies and best defense is by wearing them out and recently we havent had time to calm her down so that would explain a lot.

true, Im definitely going to be giving her more time, I feel like she has potential. She just needs some energy ran out of her.

They say dogs are puppies until the age of 4. Which I find true depending on the breed. Get lots of toys to play with. Don't forget kennel training is good for them. I swear I used to walk into my house wondering what they ate next lol. Good luck.

Yea we bought a crate two weeks in after she chewed the tv cable, dont want her getting electrocuted!

my boxer is goin to be 4 this year ,, and they are hyper and act like a puppy till they die.. but they will stop chewin things and destroying things when the teething phays goes away...

Boxers are one of the most hyper breeds around. Take the dog for a run every morning... a solid, long run ( you might want to ride a bike or rollerblade ).
