Hyriopsis Bilata (Shark Fin Mussle) Information

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That is a very cool mussel. I don't know a lot about that one, but in my experience with mussels they are very hard to keep. The big problem is that they are really good at filtering the water and it is hard to keep enough nutrients suspended in the water to keep them well fed in an aquarium. I would think the best way to keep them would be in a pond, but you won't see them to enjoy them. Apparently they are farmed for freshwater pearls, but I still can't find much.
